Introduction
Mechatronics is the synergistic combination of mechanical engineering (“mecha” for mechanisms, i.e., machines that ‘move’), electronic engineering (“tronics” for electronics), and software engineering.
Description
Mechatronics is centered on mechanics, electronics and computing which, combined, make possible the generation of simpler, more economical, reliable and versatile systems. The “mechatronics” was first coined by Mr. Tetsuro Mori, a senior engineer of the Japanese company Yaskawa, in 1969. Mechatronics may alternatively be referred to as “electromechanical systems” or less often as “control and automation engineering”.
A typical mechatronic engineering degree would involve classes in engineering mathematics, mechanics, machine component design, mechanical design, thermodynamics, circuits and systems, electronics and communications, control theory, programming, digital signal processing, power engineering, robotics and usually a final year thesis.
Companies
A candidate is eligible to work in Mechanical, electrical, companies Mechatronic engineers possess the core skills of mechanical engineers and electrical engineers. Their knowledge enables them to solve a wide range of mechanical, electrical and software problems, allowing them to participate in and lead multidisciplinary design teams.
Mechatronic engineers are employed by product developers and manufacturers, large and small, by the mining industry, by the aerospace and defence sectors, and by the government and industry research groups.
Programs
Students can opt for Bachelors & Masters in mechanical engineering wherein they can specialize in Mechatronics.

Hello, I need to know which is the best university to study Mechatronics. I have already finished CIE Ordinary Level Exams and got 7 straight A’s. Now I am a student of Advanced Level and have “Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and ICT”. I am studying hard to get good results. I do not have loads of money, so i am also expecting scholarship. To which colleges, should I apply?
P.S: I am from Bangladesh.
Thank you so much.
